The way we decorate our homes changes with the seasons. The colors of the leaves begin to shift from bright oranges and yellows to darker reds and browns as the season progresses. Flip-flops give way to boots, and shorts give way to jeans. To put it another way, it’s time for a change, and the sandalwood aroma is ideal for this time of year.
Bringing in scents that represent the season is one of my favorite transitional changes. On the one hand, having my house smell like cinnamon pastries in the morning and fresh-cut flowers when having dinner with friends is wonderful. On the other hand, there’s nothing quite like entering into a warm, inviting room that smells like roasted pumpkin after a long day at work, or being greeted by the scent of apple cider as you enter your home after a long day at work.
Sandalwood Scent: The perfect fall scent for your home
One of my favorite scents is sandalwood. It was widely utilized throughout the Victorian era and can now be found in a variety of scents. It has a delicate, velvety perfume on its own, but it also blends well with other scents to create new aromas.
Consider the following scenario:
Sandalwood + Grapefruit = An energizing smell for all that enter your home! As you walk in, imagine citrus zest combined with earthy sandalwood to create an aroma that will make you feel confident and energized!

What is Sandalwood?
Sandalwood is mainly found in India and Australia, and comes from the Santalum Album tree. It’s a black wood that can be burned to release an intoxicating aroma. A sandalwood tree takes 15 years or more to mature, and the older the tree is, the higher the grade essential oil it produces.
It’s no surprise that this was a popular aroma during the Victorian era; it’s used in everything from furniture polish to perfume!
What does sandalwood smell like?
It has a very deep and woodsy perfume that is regarded as warm and earthy. Sandalwood, on the other hand, is known to emit vanilla or even citrus fragrances! Its incredibly distinctive scent is popular in soaps and candles, but it also produces a great foundation note in fragrances.

I have always been fond of make-up ever since my adolescent days. I would try out different products on myself. With time I realized that while doing make-up can be fun, I also need to take care of my skin. I follow a strict skincare regime now and hope more people understand the importance of doing the same if they have access to the right products.
