Finding your life’s purpose might help you live a happier life by allowing you to do more of what you enjoy. But how does one go about discovering one’s life’s purpose? This essay will assist you in accomplishing your goal.

“Put yourself in situations that make you joyful.”

If you’ve ever been dissatisfied with your job or any other aspect of your personal or professional life, you’ve probably heard this advice a thousand times. This advise, on the other hand, is not beneficial to someone who is feeling lost.

It is widely accepted in today’s society that the pursuit of happiness is a deeply established concept. As children, we are taught to expect our lives to be largely pleasant, and we are urged to put up the effort necessary to accomplish that expectation.

Happiness, on the other hand, is not as straightforward as it appears.

What is happiness?

Happiness to most usually refers to what you can get from others and your environment. In other words, you’re happy when your material and emotional needs are fulfilled.

Take Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. It gives us an idea of what people need to be happy and the importance of each of those areas in our lives – from basic biological needs like food and shelter to more elevated needs like self-development and creativity.

However, meeting our needs does not always result in us being content. And, in many circumstances, this is in direct opposition with the enjoyment we desire in the first instance.

For example, a job that provides for our basic needs of food, shelter, and security may be interfering with your ability to express yourself creatively, to be flexible, and to have freedom.

And on top of that, we have a tendency to think of happiness as a static state, as something that is either present or absent. This, however, is not the case in any respect. Happiness, on the other hand, is transient and fleeting.

So, is the search of happiness a figment of our imagination?

This is not always the case. Instead, in order to discover happiness, you must first redefine what happiness means to you.

You can broaden the definition of happiness so that it encompasses more than simply the pleasant sensation you get when your wants are met or when you get something good from someone else. What it’s really about is what you can contribute to others, and how giving gives you a sense of purpose and a sense of belonging in your society.

This is where discovering your life’s purpose comes in to help you give fresh meaning to your existence.
